I’ve been waiting a couple years for Hilary Mantel to write a sequel to the amazing Wolf Hall, 2009’s Booker Prize winner, telling the tale of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn from the perspective of Thomas Cromwell, usually a villain in these tales but an indomitable Renaissance Man here.

The sequel is Bring Up The Bodies, which appears to be a middle book of a trilogy following Cromwell’s rise and fall.  Bodies picks up the story with the death of Katherine and Anne’s apparent supremacy.  We all know where the tale is going, but Mantel’s prose makes it worth every page.
