Hoarders

Mom was notorious for hoarding paper — newspapers, magazines, letters, bills, you name it. I’m still dealing with that at the condo.

What many did not know about her is that she also liked to play the slot machines for fun once in a while. I think that is why she started hoarding COINS. I found this heavy box the other day, looked inside, and found mounds of pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters.

Yesterday I ran $60 worth of spare change through a Coinstar machine at the QFC and turned it into groceries. But you pay a 9.8% fee for coins used that way. However, you can turn coins into an Amazon (among others) gift card for ZERO fee. So today I turned $120 worth of spare change into the new TV table that I needed for the condo.

So that got rid of all the spare change, right?

No. No it did not.
